The seventh edition of the national MY DZI art contest for kids has just started. This year the initiative will evolve in a fully digital environment on a special web platform, built for the purpose: mydzi.bg. Materials will be directly uploaded on the website, thus sparing time and effort for kids and parents. 

The theme of the artworks, for competing the skills and imagination of kids aged 6 to 14, is “You are not alone on the road”. The three participation categories are well known from the former editions of the contest - Oil Painting/ Graphic Art/Collage, Computer Graphics/Multimedia Presentation and Video clip/Vlog Each contestant may present as many artworks as he/she wishes in any category. The submission deadline is 31 August 2021.

 “The topic of the current DZI contest is again spurred by questions every parent addresses - how is my child behaving on the road while in the traffic, how does he/she react while riding the favorite scooter, rollers or a bicycle. Our desire is to encourage young artists to present their understanding about tolerance on the road by using the expression tools they find most appropriate. We believe that the digitalized format of the contest will provoke their creativity stronger than ever now after digitalization has rushed into their lives in a quite natural but, however, inarguable manner. This is particularly the reason behind the opportunity we give to youngsters to use the most popular graphic programs, while we will be impatiently waiting for their bids“, commented Kosta Cholakov, Chief Executive Officer of DZI on the launch of the contest’s 7-th edition.

The competent three-member jury will face the difficult task of assessing the artworks according to several criteria - expressiveness, idea originality, creativity, message and theme recognition. The authors of the top 10 artworks in Oil Painting/ Graphic Art/ Collage category will be awarded a set of acrylic paints and an easel, while the top 3 winners in Computer Graphics and Video categories will be awarded graphic tablets, equipped with 360-degree cameras.

The kids painting contest belongs to the long-time My DZI Project, seeking to enhance the insurance culture of teenagers, as well as their awareness of road safety.  The former editions boast with over 8000 young artists, attending the initiative
