For a third year in a row, DZI ranked first in the Y2021 Insurers for Society contest being also the award winner in the initial two years of the contest launched in 2015. This year the award has been given to DZI to honor the Company’s commitment and support to the Bulgarian cycling sport and to the revival of the International Cycling Tour of Bulgaria. Once again, DZI popularized cycling not only as the most eco-friendly, cost-efficient and healthy way of moving, but also as a pleasant relaxation alternative.

It won’t be an exaggeration to say that the return of the International Cycling Tour of Bulgaria, after an interruption of several years, happened, to a greater extent, owing to DZI. I believe that being among the companies with the longest history in Bulgaria it was our duty to society. Very few people know that cycling has traditions in Bulgaria as our country is the fourth country in the world to join the International Cycling Tour back in 1924, only a few years after France, Belgium and Italy did.  This year, DZI marked its 75th anniversary while Bulgaria joined the International Cycling Tour for the 68th time, commented on the occasion Mr. Kosta Cholakov, DZI’s CEO.

Traditionally, the Insurers for Society contest is organized by the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABI) and the Bulgarian Association of Insurance Brokers (BAIB) and the winners are announced on the Insurers Day - 01 October.  The contest seeks to capture and affirm the good insurance practices having a focus on corporate sustainability and responsibility.  The awards are presented for a seventh year in a row and the winner is elected after a vote between the insurance and brokerage companies - members of both associations.
