300 participants to set a Guinness World Record for having the most people knock on wood simultaneously on Friday 13th
03 септември 2021
DZI has turned the day into a happy celebration by having invited all residents and visitors of Sofia to mark the fatal Friday 13th. The Bulgarian tradition is to create some extra noise by knocking on wood thus preventing evil forces from hearing our plans. While we, DZI, believe that the surest way to send evil away is to sign an insurance.
The world record of GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ was set in Sofia on 13 August 2021, outside the National Palace of Culture, Sofia. The threshold of 250 attendants has been even outnumbered as totally 295 people supported DZI in an attempt to set a world record for having the most people touch wood at a time.
The record setting event kicked off with some instructions by Ms. Katerina Evro, the host of the event, who announced the start at 7.00 pm when all participants commenced knocking on special wooden tables gathered together in a designated area in front of the National Palace of Culture. Knocking continued for 20 seconds under the applauses and with the support of the agitated audience around, among which Andreya Banda Banda and many more.
We, at DZI, quite intentionally strive to convince audience that the best trump-card against bad luck is the insurance. For third year in a row we launch a campaign to remind of the most widely spread superstitions of Bulgarian people. We knock on wood for a good luck and are happy that quite many of the attendants joined also our campaign and signed today an insurance for a safer tomorrow, commented Ms. Mila Milenova, Head of DZI Corporate and Marketing Communications and Country Communications Manager of KBC Group in Bulgaria.
Thank you all!
